Bulk distributions let you run distributions across multiple assets in a single batch operation, up to 50 assets at once. Instead of distributing each asset individually, you can configure all distributions together, review them side-by-side, and finalize them as a group. This is perfect for quarterly payouts, year-end distributions, or any scenario where multiple assets need cash distributions at the same time.

When to Use Bulk Distributions

Bulk distributions are designed for situations where you need to distribute cash across your portfolio synchronously:

The 4-Step Wizard

Bulk distributions follow a simple, guided workflow to ensure accuracy and safety:

Step 1: Select Assets

Choose which assets from your portfolio should receive distributions in this batch. You can select up to 50 assets. Each asset you select must already have a waterfall configured.

Step 2: Configure Amounts and Dates

For each asset in the batch, specify the total distribution amount and the distribution date. The wizard displays all assets side-by-side so you can see and adjust amounts quickly. You can use different amounts for each asset. Bulk operations don't require identical distributions.

Step 3: Review All Previews

Before anything is finalized, WaterfallOne shows you a complete breakdown of how each dollar will be allocated across each tier, investor, and class. You'll see exactly what each investor receives from each asset, helping you catch any errors before they become locked records.

Step 4: Confirm Distribution

Once you approve the preview, all distributions in the batch are finalized simultaneously. Each asset's distribution becomes immutable, and the audit trail for all assets is locked.

Preview Before You Commit

Every single allocation in a bulk batch is shown in the preview step. There are no hidden calculations or surprises. You can see per-investor detail down to which tier they received cash from, their capital position before and after, and any fees or deductions that applied. If something looks wrong, you can go back and adjust before anything is locked.

Safety and Atomicity

Bulk distributions are designed with safety in mind. Each asset's distribution is finalized individually, which means if a failure occurs on one asset, it won't roll back distributions on the others. All distributions in a batch are linked by a bulk batch ID for easy tracking and reconciliation. If you need to void the entire batch due to an error, you can do so with a single bulk void operation. All distributions in that batch will be marked as void together.
